Fridays race

Wednesday March 29, 2006

It’s cold today in Girona and very cloudy. In the past 10 days it’s been sunny highs in the 70-80s. Couldn’t do much of a ride today because the van is leaving for France with all the bikes and bags and we (riders) fly out early tomorrow morning to Paris.

Thus far, it’s been a really good experience. Yeah I know I haven’t lived up to my high expectations and even the expectations of the team, however to get my feet wet again in the International racing field has showed me that there is a way that I can make a living here.

With all the training I did, I thought I would actually be a rider who would be in contention with every sprint that was suited for me. I never ever counted myself out. But racing here is a whole other level and takes more concentration, discipline, heart, courage and somewhat of an attitude to succeed.

Fridays race is a 180k race. We do 5 loops of a 28k loop and 8 loops of a 5k loop. It look pretty rolling and I feel the legs should be ready to go. After talking to Jonathan Voughters about what he feels I should do after I didn’t ride well in the first races. He told me that Sundays race is a race that suites me and I should have perfect legs for that. I know I will. I know because I just felt really good in my training, legs felt fresh and I’m over due to prove I belong here.

So ill keep you posted.

Peace.
