March 16th

March 16, 2006

We left Girona early this morning at 5:15 am to catch a commuter jet to France. They had warned us that this flight is like no other. It cost 8euros and its first come first serve like South West airline when it comes to seating. The Girona airport reminded me of a greyhound station and not an airport. After you check in you get this paper ticket that my little two-year-old daughter can make and you precede through security.

The plane was a decent 737 airbus but it had not seat pockets and the seats also did not recline…that sucked. However you could buy “American” style hotdogs, liquor in a pack and other odd items. The whole flight was like something from a movie. Two seats in front of me this couple was making out and Danny Pate would yell “gets a room” and the kids on the flight would play with the seat belt making the “click” sound and Brad Hoff yelling to them “okay enough, knock it off”. It was really funny.

We arrive in France and one team car and the motor home is out front. It’s about 25 degree’s and I’m freezing. We take off for a 6 hr drive to the town of the race tomorrow.
We finally make it to the hotel and get dressed for a quick ride.

The pics are of us riding through town and also pics of the super medium room. It’s so small. Look at the beds; I have to share that with my teammate….and the TV…haha so small.
